Bid to escape chores, eat well, or cheer for your favorite team

Kiwanis auctionThe Kiwanis Club’s silent auction of services (and more) is in progress in the south lobby of the courthouse with a very wide variety of items offered.

Services going to the highest bidders include yard work, stump grinding, window cleaning, dog sitting, gift wrapping and more. There are tickets for both Iowa and Iowa State football games, as well as Iowa State basketball. The choice of food items include pies, homemade bread, a spaghetti dinner, donuts, smoked meat and more. Also donated by Kiwanians for the auction are Zumba and yoga packages, framed art, and gift certificates for local businesses.

Bidding will be available during courthouse hours through Friday, Oct. 24. The auction will move to the Elks lodge Saturday, Oct. 25, with the bidding closing at 11 am that day at the end of the club’s annual pancake breakfast.

All proceeds will be used to support the Kiwanis Club’s community service projects benefitting Jefferson and Greene County.
